“The Sultan and the Saint” Movie Premiere

The Joliet Franciscan Sisters are happy to partner with Unity Productions Foundation and others, in the Chicago Film premiere of “The Sultan and the Saint.”  This film takes place during the Crusades and it recounts how Saint Francis of Assisi risked his life by walking across enemy lines to meet the Sultan of Egypt, the Muslim ruler Al-Malik al Kamil, in order to obtain peace.  “The Sultan and the Saint” is based on a true story and it is narrated by Academy Award Winner, Jeremy Irons.

The Chicago premiere of “The Sultan and the Saint” will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the McAninch Arts Center (The MAC) at the College of Dupage located at 425 Fawell Blvd in Glen Ellyn, IL.  Tickets must be purchased in advance at SultanSaintChicago.Eventbrite.com at a cost of $10.00 per person. The film contains some violence and may not be appropriate for children under 12.
