Our Work
Our Sisters minister in the following places: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida,
Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Wisconsin, and in South America.
In 1963 our Congregation accepted the challenge to send Sisters to Latin America. Four Sisters opened our
first Brazilian Mission in Santa Helena de Goiás in Goiás. That one mission has now expanded to include a novitiate, missions
in five different areas of the country, and a Center House, San Damiano, in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil.
Whether its working with Native Americans in Wisconsin for the last 125 years or assisting the poor
and uninsured by working with the Pharmacy Assistance Program in Will County, the Joliet
Franciscans answer the call for needs in many arenas.
