Event-Date

Empowering individuals and families to live more sustainable, socially responsible lifestyles.

The Joliet Franciscan Sisters have always been committed to peace, hospitality, and regard for the poor and oppressed.  At our time in history, we are surrounded by critical and massive injustices: devastation of natural resources, human trafficking, sex slavery, racism, pollution.

How can we be part of healing the crisis of today?  Bluestem Earth Festival: Living with Justice and Care is an effort of the Joliet Franciscan Sisters and Associates.

  • This free event will feature a variety of earth friendly activities such as workshops, eco-conscious exhibits and vendors, entertainment and children’s activities. There will also be speakers addressing contemporary social concerns such as human trafficking and water issues.  A tour of the historic Motherhouse building on the grounds of the USF campus, food and music performances from a few local bands will round out the day.
