Human Trafficking Program

The Joliet Franciscan Sisters invite you to an event on Human Trafficking.   “Enhance your awareness of / and share your responses against Human Trafficking” will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at the Joliet Franciscan Center, located at 1433 Essington Road in Joliet.  There is no cost to attend and light refreshments will be provided.

The program will consist of:

 

  • Speaker on Video -(TED TALKS):   Ms. Noy Thrupkaew – “Human Trafficking is All Around You: This is How it Works” – Ms. Thrupkaew explores the human trafficking industry which flourishes in the U.S., by showing the human faces behind the illegal labor that feeds consumers with bargains that we all love to purchase.

 

  • The Documentary “Chosen.”  Hear the shocking true stories of two “All-American” teenage girls who were tricked into becoming victims of trafficking.  Both were manipulated. Both were exploited.

 

  • Discussion
